Bring Back Joy Into Your Life
There's a simple adage that has helped many do just that:
"When You Change the Way You Look at Things,
The Things You Look at Change"... |
 |
Why not put that philosophy to the test? If you have been fighting or resisting what seems to be an uncomfortable or undesirable life situation -- step back and try to see the good in it? It could be a struggle with finances, employment, relationships, an illness or even a loss of a loved one.
Spirit has shared with us that pain in our lives is there because we are resisting learning the lesson it is there to teach us! Would you at least consider that as a possibility?
Ask Spirit to help you examine whatever is causing your pain with a different point of view. It's not easy to break old habits. It's not easy to find the good and God in absolutely everything we experience. It's there to find! Ask for truth to be revealed to you. |

Frequently Asked Questions
|
|
Q -Hi Susan and Milt. I always look forward to your monthly Heaven newsletter. It's fun and instructive keeping up with your activities and adventures. I feel your information also feeds my soul. I'm curious, why do you publish two different newsletters -- With Love From Heaven and your Casa de Santa Maria Enews. Why not combine the two? In any event, please keep them coming.
A - Thanks for the question. I wish I had a simple answer. Susan and I have a very full work-life that's basically divided into two sections. One is our livelihood centered around our telephone grief counseling through Susan's mediumship gift, as well a our spiritual retreats and now our telephone training seminars.
Our other major project requiring a good portion of our time is the formation of Casa de Santa Maria, a non-profit non-denominational spiritual retreat center we've been asked to help create here in San Luis, Colorado. This effort is not related to our livelihood as it is a labor of love, for which we receive not a penny.
About 90% of the total subscribers to both newsletters are friends, clients or business associates of ours. Some are interested in one aspect of our work and not necessasarily the other. The majority of subscribers have asked to receive both monthly updates.
We don't combine the two into one newsletter because we want to accommodate the specific interests of each of these audiences.
You could help make this process a lot simpler if you would sign up for both newsletters. That would eliminate our need for occasional repeat/crossover articles, and would also eliminate further need for rambling and boring explanations like this as to why it is the way it is!!!
If you only receive our With Love From Heaven newsletter — how about visiting our website at www.casadesantamaria.org and sign up for our Casa newsletter? You'll be glad you did.
Those of you who just receive our Casa newsletter — how about visiting our website at www.susansanderford.com and sign up for our With Love From Heaven newsletter? You'll be glad you did. (We'll be really happy you did!)
Q - I hear more and more talk about earth changes and the year 2012. Do you have anything to share on the subject? It sounds scary.
A -Yes, we are in for many changes! We receive a great number of statements and questions on this subject that seem to have the thread of fear running through them.
According to the earth energy experts the earthquake that caused the tsunami several years ago caused a shift in the earth axis, moving the magnetic North Pole about one inch. Deaths that followed amounted to one of the most deadly natural disasters on record.
The Polar Ice Caps continue to melt. Mount Kilimanjaro's glacier is crumbling, snow continues to disappear from large portions of the Swiss Alps and normal winter weather has been non existent in much of Europe the past several years. Our own Mount Blanca, seen from San Luis, once snow capped year round, is now snow free five months of the year.
Predictions abound of cataclysmic earthquakes, tidal waves and other disasters during this decade causing great loss of life. Possible? Yes. Probable? Perhaps.
Should you be afraid of what's ahead? Not at all. Everything is in divine order. If you are a fan of the Bible, A Course In Miracles or Conversations With God, there is no more profound teaching within than the statement, "All things work together for good! There are NO exceptions."
Does that include earthquakes, floods, fires, tsunamis, and ensuing deaths and destruction? Of course it does. "All things" is another way of saying EVERYTHING! Even the physical loss of a loved one.
That's another way of saying everything is in divine order. Everything that happens is for a good reason. That's "The Plan!" That's exactly why we are here on this earth school, to experience and to learn our Soul-Growth lessons for all we experience.
Course number one in earth school is Pain & Suffering 101. The second course is Overcoming Pain & Suffering.
Our human minds may not be able to grasp that concept much less accept and believe it. Our understanding will come one day when we finally get a clear view through that dark glass that now clouds our vision.
Our planet Mother Earth, a living and breathing entity, is ascending. Just as we do,
Mother Earth acts and reacts to pain caused by mistreatment. Mother Earth and each
of our soul-self are in this journey together. Susan and I have peeked at the end of
the book and can tell you there is a happy ending!
SO -- the choice is yours, you can view all this activity through the eyes of fear, or
chose to accept that it is ALL in divine order -- and enjoy the ride! I forget who said;
"The purpose of this lifetime is not to be without grief or pain. It is not to be safe and
comfortable, nor is it to be without what seems to be great expense to our health
and welfare."
"The purpose of this journey is to learn all we can in order that our soul grows, and
as we stumble and slide across the finish line bloodied and battered, yet happy and
smiling, yelling at the top of our lungs -- "WOW, what an exciting ride that was!!!!"
(I don't think I saw that in the Bible, but likely a form thereof.) Personally I'm in it for the
exciting ride!!!! |

Why Is It So Hard To Change?
Why is it so hard to accept change as being good? For many, change is something to fight, even though that change will likely bring positive results in our lives. Ever wonder why that is so in your own life?
It has to do with what you were taught in those formative years. Lucky you if your role models were loving, kind and smart. Lucky you if they supported you, built you up, helped you see your divinity and importance, even though you made your share of growing-up-faux pas. |
I'd say the vast majority of us were not that fortunate. If we were told we were stupid, ugly, worthless, would never amount to anything -- guess what, as children we bought into the misinformation. (sometimes it was mean downright lies that came from our role model's mouths and hearts.)
Why would they treat us that way? Likely it's all they knew about themselves from their childhood role models, and, because of ignorance, they were doing the best they could. That still doesn't make their wounding words and actions right, and we must honor our current feelings and beliefs today, if we are to heal from them.
So why is it so hard to find the truth and heal from the negative beliefs we have, especially about ourselves? I call it the Baby Elephant Syndrome.
Driving through Downingtown, Pennsylvania In the early seventies, I spotted a small traveling circus setting up shop for a week of performing. To satisfy my curiosity, I walked among the confusion.
I approached the man in charge of securing the elephants. "That rope looks too thin to hold those big guys!" I expertly opined. "Nah, they don't know no better! When we get them as babies we secure them with heavy metal chains and when they try to break free, the pain keeps them in their place!"
"You know what they say about an elephant's memory. They remember that painful experience from childhood, and although you would think they'd realize their own strength now, that old pain is imbedded in them, still holding them down by the flimsiest of ropes!
See the connection? Our guardian's, teachers, siblings, classmates, whoever we looked up to, when they demeaned us in any way, they were placing those baby elephant chains around our belief system. Those chains became our truth. They still are.
If you understand and see your beliefs for what they are, you can heal and change your way of thinking and believing. Now that you have a bit of understanding where that baggage came from, ask spirit for help in breaking those chains from the past. You CAN heal.

"Ya Gotta Lighten Up!"
That's what Spirit is constantly reminding Susan and me as we sometimes take life a little too seriously. Soooo, this is our monthly Lighten Up feature — and we're asking YOU to contribute to it by sending us your favorite joke or funny story.
Here's one we received from a dear friend, Stephanie Par due, that had us smiling. Stephanie admits this certainly could easily be about her! |

Blue Eyes Can Cause Brain Failure
Likely only women of a certain era will fully appreciate this....true story. (if you don't understand this, tell your mother, she'll get it).
A Michigan woman and her family were vacationing in a small new England town where Paul Newman and his family often visited.
One Sunday morning, the woman got up early to take a long walk. After a brisk five-mile hike, she decided to treat herself to a double-dip chocolate ice cream cone. |
She hopped in the car, drove to the center of the village and went straight to the combination bakery/ice cream parlor.
There was only one other patron in the store: Actor Paul Newman, sitting at the counter having a doughnut and coffee.
The woman's heart skipped a beat as her eyes made contact with those famous baby-blue eyes.
The actor nodded graciously and the star-struck woman smiled demurely.
Pull yourself together! She chides herself. You're a happily married woman with three children, you're forty-five years old, not a teenager!
The clerk filled her order and she took the double-dip chocolate ice cream cone in one hand and her change in the other. Then she went out the door, avoiding even a glance in Paul Newman's direction.
When she reached her car, she realized that she had a handful of change but her other hand was empty. Where's my ice cream cone? Did I leave it in the store? Back into the shop she went, expecting to see the cone still in the clerk's hand or in a holder on the counter or something. No ice cream cone was in sight.
With that, she happened to look over at Paul Newman. His face broke into his familiar warm friendly grin and he said to the woman,
"Ma'am, you put it in your purse." |
Another Calling For Us?
First there was Tucker who found us at the Humane Society in Sedona, Arizona, Then Molly who peered into our living room window on that frigid, rainy night, shortly after we moved to San Luis, Colorado. Not long after Molly became a household member, there was that morning we found weary and worn, but oh so beautiful Spirit Girl collapsed on our porch.
After Spirit Girl recovered from her difficult journey to find a safe place she could call home, we found that place for her with some loving folks some 40 miles away. (Still a heartbreaking experience for us as we so wanted to make her a part of our family, but alas could not. I think of her every day)
Then there was tiny, helpless Smokey, several ounces of hurting crying kitty, tangled in bushes along the highway, struggling with hunger, cold and an infected paw. At first an unwelcome family addition, now unconditionally accepted by Tucker and Molly.
Before assimilating them into our household, we've driven each of these precious ones 90-miles for overnight visits to the vet's for full examinations, treatment, and then back again to their new life filled with love and comfort. They are royalty to us, adding such joy to our lives.
We've reached our current level of ability to care for more of these precious ones who have been so coldly discarded. Just yesterday we were involved with a neighbor and the Chief of Police in attempting to find a home for yet another tiny perky orange kitten wandering the neighborhood.
Later last night we found ourselves putting together a makeshift shelter under our back deck for a lovely white cat who has staked out our back yard looking for some comfort in this overnight sub zero weather. And on it continues, and our hearts cry for the stays of San Luis.
Last night Susan and I decided we'll try to raise the funds to build a heated and insulated shelter/shed in the back yard to temporarily accommodate these gifts from God who have been abandoned or have run away, until we can find a permanent home.
How can we do any less? If you'd like to help, make your check payable to;
Susan Sanderford
211 Culebra Street
San Luis, CO 81152
Your contributions will also help with their food and medical care.
Once we have the Casa de Santa Maria up and running, it's our plan to have a more permanent shelter there as well. Thanks for sharing our concern.

How To Connect With Spirit
By Susan & Milt Sanderford
|
Saturday, January 26th, 2008
2:00 p.m. Eastern Time
$30
There are a number of reasons folks wish to develop an open line of communication with Spirit/God/Guides/Loved Ones/The Other Side.
Susan and I feel our first hand experiences in this area can help many to accomplish that goal. That's the reason behind our decision to share the specific details of how Susan was directly and personally trained by spirit in the area of spirit communication development.
Our goal is also to make this seminar financially available to as many as possible who otherwise are unable to attend conferences that involve the expense of traveling, overnight hotel expenses, and the like.
Here's what you will learn during this seminar:
• Two Vital Keys to Successful Spirit Communication
• Things That Block Successful Communication
• How to Remove the Blocks
• Exercises Given to Susan by Her Spirit Guides
(Yes, there's homework.)
• The Importance of Meditation in the Process
(And why it doesn't have to be difficult)
• How to Hear/Recognize Spirit's Voice
We'll share with you in these two hours what we've experienced as a result of being taught by our spirit guides, ascended masters, and loved ones in spirit -- not theories based on what other's believe, or have written about.
(We have it on rather good authority that our dear friend and advisor on mediumship and spirit communication, Dr. James Martin Peebles, just might make a brief appearance during our telephone training seminar.)
Here's How the Program Details Will Work
A week before the seminar, we'll supply you with a special number to call. (To keep the cost down, the cost of the call is on you.) Several days before the seminar, we'll send you a detailed reminder of the procedure to follow.
You place the call at least ten minutes before the scheduled time. You'll key in a special number we supply and you'll be patched in to our seminar. We will begin promptly so don't be late.
You will hear Susan and Milt live, but you will not be able to be heard, nor will you hear anyone else. If you have a question during the seminar, you'll email us at iheart@sedona.net. We'll try to answer as many questions before the session ends. If we don't get to your question during the session, we'll answer your question by email within 24-hours.
Our How To Connect With Spirit telephone learning seminar will be held in one two-hour session, with a break after the first hour;
Saturday, January 26th, 2008
beginning at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time,
1:00 p.m. Central Time,
noon Mountain Time, and
11:00 a.m. Pacific Time.
At the end of the first hour we will take a 45 minute break. This will allow you to rest your arm and ear, tend to the kids needs, grab a quick snack, take a potty break -- even review your notes while fresh in your mind.
At the end of the break, begin your reconnecting process the same way you began the session. We will begin hour number two promptly at the top of the hour, so start your recalling process after your 45 minute break. (Your total time investment will be three hours, which includes the break.)
The total cost of our How To Connect With Spirit telephone learning seminar is $30.
Make your check payable to Susan Sanderford and mail to:
Susan Sanderford
P.O. Box 64
San Luis, CO 81152
Remember, the cost of the phone calls are on you.
OPTIONAL ADD-ON OFFER
For an additional $15, you will receive:
A complete email transcript of the seminar material, plus;
One personal email consultation within 30-days of the seminar, answering up to three of your follow up questions.
To guarantee your participation in this seminar, please email us at iheart@sedona.net
and let us know you'll be mailing your check to reserve your place.
We hope you will be moved to join us in this potentially life changing program.

The Healing Process. Surrender To It!
SEASONS AND GRIEF
Sandy Goodman
The change of seasons is a difficult time for those of us with loved ones on the other side. Memories that have lain dormant for the rest of the year suddenly spring to life and knock us off our feet. Each caramel apple, pumpkin, whiff of wood smoke. Jason with brown juice on his chin, Jason with a huge spoon scooping seeds out of a pumpkin, Jason lighting a fire in the stove. Jason, Jason, Jason. STILL so much a part of my every day life. |
As I typed the last paragraph, I felt warm and close to my son who has passed. The memories feel warm and comfortable, not cold and distressing. But I am into my sixth year of grief. It has not always been this way.
In the time I have spent on this journey, I have come to know that Jason exists in another form, one that I cannot see, but he exists, nonetheless. When I accepted this truth, and welcomed it, I began to feel the memories with a smile rather than with sadness. I now know that Jason is able to pull up these same memories and live them all over again as many times as he wants. By remembering them with honor and joy, I invite him into my thoughts and into my heart. He always accepts that invitation.
If you are new to your loss, the change from summer to fall will most likely trigger memories that sadden you. Feel the sadness and then take a minute to look for the love that was present when that memory was an actuality. Reach for it. It is there, waiting patiently for your touch.
LEARNING,
Sandy Goodman
The chill in the air
Reminds me of autumns past
When life was so much simpler
and so much smaller.
We worried over your homework
and hunting accidents
and heating bills
and you were oblivious to everything
but how much candy you might get.
Looking back
I think that you were the wise one.
Your worry was about joy
while ours held only fear.
It is not only since your dying
that you have tried to teach me,
but is only since your dying,
that I've begun to listen.
Wow! How powerful Sandy. Thank you for sharing from the depths of your pain and joy! |
